Starting January 1, 2017, Close To My Heart introduced four new themed paper packs.  Each one with 10 double sided pages and two pages with cut-to-use cards.  This week I want to focus on Sugar Rush, because I think I need to run out to Dunkin Donuts....

Okay, I'm back.  That cruller was awesome!
So back to Sugar Rush and the above card.  This was motivated by Mojo Monday and made me think out of the box!
Products used are the following:

So go out, have that chocolate frosted donut and enjoy Mojo Monday!!

July Stamping Stax Card Workshop with Watercolors

By far my favorite technique for cards and scrapbooks is our Watercolors and amazing brushes.  The brushes themselves are worth the 8.95 for a set of five soft, well made brushes.

With our new A Bunch of Love Stamp set and matching thin dies , I created three cards for my attendees to create together.

The Florence paper pack and rose gold foil tape was used on each card.

Just a little water on the palate to give each flower a bright color.

A wash of Goldrush for the background.

The diffuser was used to emboss the butterflies, but leave space for stamping and signing the card.

Hope you like this month's cards and shop at and see all the new items!

Stamping Stax Cards for June Scream Flamingos!

Using the Tickled Pink Stamp set and thin cuts, I was able to create the first two Flamingo cards.  How fun are these little guys?
The middle bendy card I cut the base using a Cricut templete.  I tried hard to make this card with my cutter and score pal, but alas, Cricut saved my ass!

If you are local, join us at one of the three events listed here on
If you are not local and would like more information on how to create these buggers, email me at!

See you soon and Happy crafting!

Retro Mojo Monday, Remebering the Polaroid

This month's Stamp of the Month is so fun!  Years and years of old fashioned cameras, including everyone's favorite, the Instamatic or Polaroid.  Using the outline for Mojo Monday, I had a little fun with my Polaroid stamp.

Growing up, we never got a Polaroid camera, just an average 110 for us, which we always took pictures outside so we didn't have to waste money on flash cubes.
But I was always fascinated by the cameras and found they capture a moment in time.

Our pictures now see us at our best, or goofiest, but a Polaroid takes a split second and freezes it, for good or bad, forever.

Don't forget to get the Stamp of the Month with you $50 purchase for only $5 at!

Art of Days Past - Get in Touch with your truer Self

This post is more reflective.  It is past midnight and I haven't been to my 9-5 job in two weeks.  It was two weeks ago, I just quit.

Lots of things led up to that moment, but when you leave a job which you have had for 13 years, many emotions come to the surface.

Panic, freedom, confusion and you rethink your direction in life.
I have always told people when I meet them for the first time, I work as an Administrative Assistant, blah, blah, blah.
What I always wanted to say was, I'm an artist.

The painting I did above was the first time I have picked up acrylics in YEARS!  You tube was very helpful for the tutorial, and I am happy with the result.

Even though I may have to go back to get a stable income job soon as an Assistant, I think from now on, when someone asks me what I do I will reply, Artist.  Just because that is who I feel I am.
